I have noticed that a lot of you are playing zombie killing games on Steam. I don't own even one zombie killing game! I don't mind zombies. I actually feel kind of sorry for them. But I feel so left out now. I'm willing to socializingly kill some zombies. But which zombie killing game should I get?

Please help me rectify this zombie killing unableness I'm experiencing.

You need at least one of the Left 4 Dead games. The second one has more content overall: more variety among enemies, more guns and equipment (including melee weapons, which aren't in the first), a deeper storyline, and more complex maps with twistier objectives. That said, the first one is easier to simply pick up and play, and it pokes fun at the style of zombie outbreak movies, so it's funnier and has more charm. That comes across most in the characters, who have exaggerated personalities without being unrealistic, while the ones in the sequel are a little blander. Also, the second game is incredibly gory, with bodies essentially made out of Play-Doh and blood; for reference, the first game "only" lets you shoot off limbs and explode heads.

Basically, it's a matter of taste which one you want. But these are the definitive zombie games, and you really should have one.

I think I have played a bit of both of them in split-screen with my brother on Xbox. They were pretty fun!

Atom Zombie Smasher is really difficult. Fun though.

Also, I prefer Left 4 Dead 1 over 2. It's just more simple and I think more fun.

When it comes to whooping Zombies Shelly and Kath_ are your go to people. I had the first L4D game on 360. I now just have the 2nd.

The upcoming Dead Island is supposed to be rather good too.

I think Shelly mentioned Left 4 Dead 1 over 2 too...

Yeah, purely a matter of taste as to which L4D is better. If you're in doubt but want one of them, stick with the first. And good call, nikel: I still need to get Atom Zombie Smasher. I love Flotilla and Gravity Bone, so that's one I should have already picked up.
